Winning the war

He had no choice but to do it and pull the pin. He threw it at his foe. Listening preemptively, half expecting the sound of a nuclear bomb detonated. They were all incinerated to a crisp in a flash of light. The sound no fainter than the sound of water bubbling in a kettle he mused. It was all about winning the war.
