Keep Praying until something happens.

For your to receive your Abrahamic blessings you need to be a prayer man. However, Some Christians find this disappointing. It seems to eliminate the mystic of the Prayer of faith. Are we not imprisoning our faith by asking only that which God has already promised? But such disappointment reveals a spiritual evil: would we prefer to devise our own spirituality (which prefers the spectacular) to that of God (often modest)?

The struggles we sometimes experience in prayer are, therefore, often part of the process by which God gradually leads us to ask only for what He has already promised to give us. That God has promised you doesn't guaranteed it automatically come to you without putting yourself in the best position to receive it.

The struggle is not our attempt to make him give us what we want, but it is our struggle with His Word, until we are enlightened and submitted by it, and we say: "Do not do my will, but yours."

Then, as Calvin says, we learn "not to ask for more than God allows." This is the reason why genuine prayer can never be separated from true holiness. The prayer of faith can only be made by the "just" man, whose life is increasingly aligned with the grace and purposes of God.

God has given us the ability to pray and receive answer. In the realm of prayer (since it is a microcosm of the whole Christian life), faith (prayer to the Lord of the covenant) without works (obedience to the Lord of the covenant) is dead.

The earnest, fervent prayer of a righteous man make available so much. To whom much is given then much is expected.
