Im glad you enjoyed it, it had been a bit sence i had made a post about the flaggots. i enjoyed it.
The flagging system is the main downfall of steemit andit is the reason i feel steemit will fail.
look whats happening to youube after they gave the power to (flag) censor videos to the people that use it. it has been complete madness and youtube is dying and fast. same thing with twitter, they tried to implement a censorship program and ever sence they did its been dying like crazy.
I tried to talk about it, post about, yell about ect when everyone wa leaving after the huge influx of users from twexit. i have also been flagged by dan when making posts about the problems with flagging. he didn't respond with text, or an arugment, just a flagg
The level of ignorance coming from the pro flaggers is insane, wait till they start getting flagged, then they gona be crying about how the flagging system sux.
Its not a good look for steemit, as word spreads about the flagging less and less people are going to want to join, as we have watched in the past happen.

I must disagree with you there. The flagging system has a purpose and a place for when it should be used. Recently someone was caught for plagiarism and because of the flag system the group of people were able to only flag the posts that had been plagiarized. After this moment he has since apologized and is trying to make right for his wrongs.
I do agree that flags can drive off users and that their needs to be a better consensus on how to use the flag ability! Yeah, If people with high steempower that have the ability to flag something to oblivion I do believe that they should have the decency to leave a comment on why they are doing that.
Well the thing is the topic needs to be approached in a diplomatic type of way. If it is approached from a perspective of Us vs then that will and has been the war that you are describing/experiencing.
It not a good look when it seems like a lot of users are fighting each other, but at the same time If we are to be able to work together despite our difference and come up with a solution that works for all of us that would be incredible! That would give steemit the best image of all!
That is the correct use of the flag, it is not there to flag stuff you don't like.

Divide and conquer, its not a good thing. My main point is this site cant be "no censorship" if it is censoring stuff one group dislikes. People that disagree with it should be talking about it not trying to censor the people. that is not going to do any good, it is only trying to shut down the conversation imo.
Again I totally agree, the people that are flagging need to leave comments or make posts about it. they should form an argument and put it in the free market place of ideas. The best cure for bad ideas is sunlight and by censoring stuff, it is only pushing it back into the dark.
Hopefuly people can stop with the flagging and actually try to have some open discourse. It is the only way things will move forward imo.

Yeah, an explanation is needed! Otherwise it creates confusion; Like smacking a kid and not telling him why (I Believe it is wrong to hit kids, just the analogy I thought of). Yeah censorship creates control!
I think it will eventually come to an end when and if devs implement a "how to use the flag" introduction!

Yeah sometimes it is hard to get the word out about certain thing. I am still just wanting a separate resteem tag. when I get that I will be soooo happy ^_^
yeah it is esspecially weird when I high rep and SP power user does that without an explanation. It really doesn't set a good example if he is supposed to be teaching other the dos and dont's on steemit.
All of it is indeed a fine line. I really think the introduction screen when you are creating a new peofile should give better explanation to the flag system and a tutorial.
youtube calls it the "youtube heros" and you get points for taking dowm videos and the more you flag the more points so u level and new levels give new and more powerful flagging options. they even give a "mass flagging" power once you reach a certin level so you can wpe out full channels. Everyone for about 6 months or so have bn looking for a new platform but nothing that could compete has shown up yet.
I am waiting for the day when someone gets all of their followers to attack someone and then continue to sick them all on e next person that says anything about it.
LOL flag wars will be starting soon if I get conformation that it is a vote not a flag like some say.
In fact, shit should start making guilds now. start preppin for the war. I all of a sudden see this as a war game if the flag is a vote not a flag.

Its happened before. A few times. I was one of the people that said something about it at the time. FOrtunately, i think the main people responsible have grown out of it.
Basically, youre assuming that users are going to be willing to flag someone just because you tell them to. I think youll find thats not the case. I think you would also find that there would be more than a few big whales that came out in defense of users that were targeted in this way.
Ah are you claiming part of the doxing that happened to those people too, cause that group of people doxed and released information and were calling u his parents and leaving death threats and calling his job and fucked u shit.
Or are you only talking about all the other times the supper flaggots got taken out? maybe the guy trying to point out the problems with the flagging system that people wouldn't talk to and only silenced his account so people wouldn't be able to hear him talking about the flagging problems?
As for people flagging because I said so, interesting idea. I have been thinking of treating this site like a strat war game. could be fun.

Ok that youtube thing is pretty weird. It is like leveling up your dark powers until you can wipe out mini universes. .
but I still believe that steemit is better than that and in time devolop will create modifications that promote using the flag properly rather than promoting abuse like you tube has done.
There no need to prepare for guild wars if devs can develop a system that promote more maturity!
I think it would become fun to treat this site like a strat war game.
we could all upvote (train) with each other to raise our levels (rep) and all go after targets as a group taking down the strongest dragons (Flaggots) on the server.
