So far, if I made a mistake on Steemit, like the wrong tag, something minor, someone points it out to me in the comments, like when a bot finds my original content on my own website. Someone was very kind to let me know it would be good for me to provide my Steemit link on my website so that people could see that it truly is my original content from my website that I am sharing on Steemit. I took her advice and added that on my Home page.
People have been very kind and helpful and I try to provide the same kind of courtesy to newer members when I see something too.
I haven't dealt with flagging yet. Personally, I think I would flag if someone was using someone else's content, my content without permission, or being hateful towards someone. The flag thing scares me because someone could decide they don't like me and target me, but those are fears. I know that if I did ever get flagged, I'd most likely contact that person and if I felt there was an injustice, I'd ask for help from the community.
I think if we all understand and respect each other and the etiquette and let each other know our mistakes, there will be very little flagging going on.

There's a good chance you'll never have to deal with flagging where it affects you or you'll even notice it. It all depends on how outspoken you are, what you post about, how well you cite everything and all that sort of shit. Chances are that'll never happen to you.
