I just came up with a good idea for flags!
We should have flagged posts just be redirected to a side-chain, and instead of saying this post can’t be seen because of low ratings...
It should say
“ You must be over 18 to view this, click to enter!”
It should say
“ You must be over 18 to view this, click to enter!”

My feeling is that things will naturally evolve to allow one to run their own browser/condenser; allowing tailored configurability.
Ignore Flags yes/no would be one of many configurable display options.

Any suggestions then how to do it without a side chain? SMT? Maybe they just change the website layout. Some flagged posts are not necessary plagiarism, or bad, some are just false flags and might need a forum for 2nd opinions. lol maybe someone wants to just see only the flagged posts! Maybe the side chain could be the bot less chain?????? Then the posts could get a 2nd sift through without bots! That would be the pearl of steem, the real steemit! ut-ho
Honestly I see a need to separate the flag and downvote, downvote works the same as it does now taking payout and effecting rep while hiding content where flagging would not effect rep or payout but just hide the content for anyone lower rep than the account that flagged it. Having a system that does anymore than hiding with button to reveal/taking payout/affecting rep will just exasperate the ongoing whale war problem!
Yeah flags wors pretty good. I just think we could do better disguising the fact that it is a flag to the people who are outsiders and have no idea by making it look like one of those warning enter at your own risk types of thing. Like this content may not be suitable for all viewers, or or maybe plagiarized, enter to find out. That is all I was thinking about them instead of them cluttering up the main feed??? Either way adding some fancy style sheets and stuff for that was more along the lines of what I was thinking.

If we are to think of the future on this one I believe we need to focus more on the end user experience than the function of the site, would be simple for any front end to change how the flags are displayed and could even strip the content completely from viewability and even setting it up to have "approved" flags so not every random flag people get will hide their content but only the ones from an "approved account" or even have those settings in control of the end user..... so my point is many people still may want to view that content as humans are drawn to drama 😉
