Shrinking your Waist – Understanding the Science behind it First!

There may come a time in your life that you may get inspired by someone's confidence and try to be more like them but somehow you feel that something is coming between you and your goals. Being overweight might be one of them. I do agree to the fact that one should feel comfortable in their own skin but being overweight can become problematic healthwise and also add certain complex within you. While this comes off as a bad news, the good news is that weight can be lost only if you are willing to really get into it. To be honest, it's not even as hard as the world makes it seem. What actually is the science of weight loss? I researched over it and here is everything relevant that I’ve come across.

Belly Fat – How is it Formed?
Eating anything in excess can make your tummy saggy and loose. However, the one type of fat that that plays a major role in forming a bulgy appearance to your tummy is Subcutaneous fat that lies just below the skin. Men mostly form it on their shoulders, abdomen, and chest while women find it bulging from their thighs and hips most of the time and most of the women are aware of the pear-shaped body that is resulted because of excessive fat.

How is Avoid Gaining Weight?
You may find a lot of products online that claim to shrink your belly and flatten your abs within days and you may have given a thought of trying it, thinking what harm would it do? The truth is that it may or may not be harmless but what you can do on your part is read all about it and discuss with professionals before taking anything such thing for your body. You must know the science of losing weight before you actually choose a method to suit your body. A common example is that of sugar. Two types of sugar, that is white and brown, are both a kind of fat but brown sugar is still considered over white sugar because of a few reasons:

  • Brown fat is responsible for producing heat.
  • It’s mostly found in newborn babies, however, a new research shows that it is also found in adults to some extent.
  • Interestingly, those with higher levels of brown fat are found to be slimmer as compared to the ones with a lower level of brown fat.
  • According to experiments and research, it is found that while 50 grams of fat will store about 300 kilocalories of energy, 50 grams of brown fat will burn about 300 kilocalories per day!

Dos and Don’ts of Your Diet:
To get started, there is always a set of rules that you must make and then commit yourself to sticking to them. Here are a few pointers suggesting the Dos and Don’ts for your book of rules:
Dos:

  • Shift your focus from cravings to flat abs. That’s right. Remind yourself to eat to shrink and plan your diet accordingly.
  • Take small portions and cut down on heavy meals. It will also help in keeping you active all day.
  • Take some time out to work out for every day. It will be a little hard in the beginning but you will eventually get used to of working out for at least 40 minutes a day.
  • If you are not a breakfast person, try smoothies! Smoothies of different fruits and vegetables are not only nutritious and healthy but are also very good in taste. In fact, you can customize it according to your taste and enjoy this supplement of nutrition in the form of a drink.

Don’ts:

  • The first and most important one that has helped many people around the world is that of cutting down on extra snacks from your daily routine.
  • Fried food is a no-go area for you! Avoid it as much as you can!
  • Try to avoid processed food as much as you can because studies have revealed that not only is it fattening but it’s also toxic to your health.
  • Do not go for an exercise routine before understanding it well. Hire a trainer if you need to and then understand every exercise angle and its purpose.

While 80%of the process depends on your diet, 20% of it depends on exercises. It’s a good thing that people nowadays have become aware of the importance of exercise and are adapting to an active lifestyle.

Exercises
youtube is full of videos with trainers suggesting small workout routines for every day. The gym is no more a necessity to be able to exercise. There are different intense exercises for certain body types. However, here a few basic exercises that help tone the body and flatten those bulging areas on your body:

  • Squats:
    If you want a toned body, this is the exercise you must follow religiously every day. It will be hard in the beginning but you will get used of repeating the set every day.

  • Leg Lifts:
    Leg lifts are specifically for abs workout so if you really are in for a flat belly, you don’t want to miss on this one!

  • T- Balance with Arm Raise:
    This is again a good workout for your arms, legs, shoulders and thigh muscles.

  • Side Plank:
    Take a dumbbell in your left hand and position your body into a side plank, balancing upper body up on your right elbow and forearm. You can bend your bottom knee for support and raise hips letting body form a straight line from ankles to shoulders.

Getting into a good shape is truly all about motivation. The more motivated you are, the better results you will witness. You should love yourself enough to take care of your body and let yourself feel good about yourself.
