Week 1, Day 1 (139 to go) of My Marathon Training
After my recent cancer diagnosis and subsequent surgery to have a tumor removed from my kidney, I have decided to run the New York City marathon as a member of Fred's Team. I will be helping raise money for cancer research through the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
I kicked off my training Monday with my first long (moderate — heart rate zone 3) run. One of my dog walking buddies, Jack, tagged along with me for a few miles. He was born to run!
