Deadlift is the safest exercise of all exercises!!! The is no any risk of pulling a disc. There is a risk only if you do stupid things. If you do deadlift every day your discs are been protected by muscles and tendons. With seated shoulder press or biceps curl you can damage your disc faster because you have no protection at all!
