@polebird: ✨ The Pursuit of Movement - Russian flow in heels ✨
Today's pole flow is something new I've been dabbing in - Russian flow! If you remember my pole goals for 2018 -- it is to be more dance-y, so I am branching out! Usually danced in heels, russian flow is the epitome of fluidity. In pole, heels and boots add a whole different dimension to the game! Not only do they add weights to the feet, but the shoe itself allows you to slide/drag your foot smoothly across the floor and apply pressure to the top of the toes for certain moves! It's not my usual trickster pole style, but I've found it to be super fun although it is really tiring and a great workout with the added weight to the feet. You might notice that most of the weight of the foot is just on the "toe box" of my boot - allowing for pivots. Interestingly enough, russian flow requires a lot of upper body engagement - so you can put much less weight than usual on the feet and get that smooth fluidity. Today's video has my practice of different combos I've learned in class. I loved playing around with the combos! Thanks for watching!

The flow part of pole is the part that I have always had down, even when i hadn't touched a pole yet. I never wear heels in my daily life, as I work in healthcare and my partner is near my height so heels make us a bit less kissing-compatible heights so I enjoy the opportunity to play with heels during pole. Those boots...I didn't have heel goals until now. They are dreamy. We all flow on! ;*
Aww that’s awesome that flow is your jam! It’s definitely the hardest part for me. Do you practice free styling often? Haha and I rarely wear heels in daily life, gotten quite lazy. You can usually find me running around in sneakers, but the pole boots are pretty comfortable actually. Hehe thank you very much! :)
I am doing flow style dancing to music all the time in my house while I clean but I am still without a home pole to practice, but after your post about the playgrounds, maybe that's a weak excuse? Haha

For sure! The shower, like with singing, becomes a stage but that's a bit more dangerous to be twirling and dipping so the broom/mop is a common dance partner. I can't get any canine dance partners to join in; they get super awkward and jump on me or bark instead haha

Kind of requires talent, yeah. And a ton of hard work.
