How to lose stubborn belly fat?
How to lose stubborn belly fat?
Eat less move more! Thank you for your time please come again...
But seriously is it that simple? Well maybe theirs a bit more to it then that! lets start with busting the myth that you can spot reduce fat. When i was 12 years old i would do 100 sit ups everyday, because i believed that if i kept it up it would lead to me losing my belly fat and revealing a six pack.
How ever what I have come to learn many years later is that 100 sit ups will help you lose stomach fat, but no more than it will help you lose fat from the rest of your body. When the body resorts to burning fat stores, it doesn’t use the stores nearest the muscles being worked. Instead, fat from the entire body is burned.
Further more 100 sit ups performed in 10 min will burn approximately 57 calories, about 8 almond nuts or 1 slice of bread worth of calories. From these examples you can see that doing 100 sit ups a day on its own is not likely to help improve someones body fat %.
lets go back to the phrase "eat less move more" there are some questions that need to be asked.
If eating less and moving more is the answer to the question how do you lose weight? Then we need to ask how much less do i need to eat? How much more do i need to move?
The answer to these questions is different for everyone because everyone has a different 'Maintenance calorie level' your maintenance calorie level is the amount of calories you would have to eat a day in order to maintain your current weight (not including any extra exercise you may perform). You can workout your maintenance calorie level with many different online calculators here is a link to one of them-
https://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/macronutcal.htm
Once you have your maintenance calorie level worked out, for example lets say your maintenance calorie level is 2200 calories.
You can then track your daily caloric intake to insure you are at a calorie deficit of up to 500 calories. You can easily do this by using a calorie tracking app or tool such as 'My Fitness Pal' that can be download in the app store. (More information on tracking calories and Flexible dieting in future posts).
The more 'moving' or exercise you do the more your maintenance calorie level will go up, for example if you perform 100 sit ups every day burning 57 calories your maintenance calories would go up from 2200 to 2257. Allowing you to either eat more food or be at a greater caloric deficit.
I will have more information on the different forms of exercise and there benefits in future posts so be sure to give me a follow and ask any questions below!
What worked for me was..
intermittent fasting
zero refined sugar
low carb diet
and crunch type exercise
I lost 3 inches in 5 weeks
You need to force the body to consume its own fat
Great ideas! I love intermittent fasting its a great appetite suppressant, i have heard that low carb high fat diets are great for teaching your body to burn its own fat, I am yet to try one thought!
If you are looking for some pointers i follow Dr Jason Fung on fasting and Dr Mercola on diet and exercise Both are on youtube and hopefully one day on steemit
