The first steps to any weight loss program should always begin with a cleanse.

The cleanse phase is so important because in order for your body to start responding to weight loss methods, you first need to get rid of the toxins that have built up in your system.

Toxins affect the body’s ability to absorb the foods and nutrients that we consume daily. When this happens, individuals no longer receive the full benefit of their daily diet. Proper absorption of nutrients such as carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals is essential to maintaining a healthy body.

Once the toxins are removed from the body, then the body can start absorbing the vital nutrients to keep you healthy. This is very important when you are on some kind of restrictive calorie diet because you need all the nutrients and energy possible from the foods you are eating. If you start a new fitness routine your body will also need to be replenished with the proper nutrition for you to see gains from the exercise. The cleansing phase is very important and should always be the first step.

When you are in the cleanse phase you need to be eating only the most optimal foods, otherwise you are bringing back in all of the toxins you are trying to eliminate. It is recommended to eliminate wheat, dairy, coffee, soda and alcohol during a cleanse and only eat lean meats, nuts, seeds, fruits and vegetables (organic preferably) and drink a ton of water (at least 64 oz’s a day). If you don’t want to drink just water you can also drink green tea, herbal tea or add a good energy drink powder to your water.

Some people will see great weight loss during the cleanse phase and some people may see a reduction in inches during this phase. These losses can be a great motivator to keep you going. However, not everyone has weight loss during this phase so don’t become frustrated if you don’t lose weight, but do know that your body is much healthier.

There are many cleanse products available on the market today. I recommend that you do some research to find the best fit for you and consult with your physician first, especially if you are on any medication.

Always begin with a good cleanse and then proceeded with the weight loss program of choice to see the greatest results. Enjoy a more healthy happier you!

I’m recovering from a surgery. My antibiotics finished yesterday. I’m removing my stitches tomorrow. If the doctor allows me, I start my cleanse tomorrow.
