Back Progress -Transformation

I have been working out for almost 3 years. 

My back is a muscle I like to focus on. besides my glutes, this is another body part I like to workout twice a week. I find that having a larger back and larger legs can give your body the illusion of a smaller waist . That is why  I focus on these two muscle groups the most. 

  Here is a picture of my transformation so far. I say so far because I am nearly done working out.

For my back I have been experimenting with deadlifts for the glutes and low back and barbell squats for the midback.
The waist remains what puzzling though because heavy deadlifts put on a lot of muscle mass on the front of the stomach as the body tries to gain core strength. It's less of a worry for me because I am somewhat more concerned with strength training itself. So I just buy new pants :)
