Here is another nice fish from the river Torrens at Saint Peters, topping the scales at 22lb 8oz.

The fish came from the far margin shelf next to an old car tyre on the bottom. The fish was caught using home-made vegimite and liver boilies fished with a PVA stringer of a dozen or so baits.
White meat fish can be really good pickled. Gotta say, I get quit the kick out of your bait!
Thanks @kansuze - don't think pickled fish is for me... i like most of my fish raw and meats blue - or raw.. which can really freak people out :)
I love sushi but I have never tried eating a fish that I caught, raw. I don't know, maybe I think of parasites even though the water is very clean, and I pretty much like fish every way that I have tried it. As for the meat, I hope it's not still mooing when you down it!
Haha, just around the corner from my work! Nice catch.
It's amazing.@realtreebivvy.. How long do you need to eat all it... For me, this fish is enough for a whole month.
i do the carp fishing for fun, if i need to stock the freezer up with fish to eat, i will go sea fishing for yellow fin whiting, salmon or big stingrays :)
Great catch and kudos on the boilies!
Thanks Malcolm - most over here in oz have never heard or seen a boilie - and when they see that they don't go on the hook, they get very confused :)
Now that is a big fish. Wonderful catch! Enjoy
Thanks Carey, is there any fishing in your area? Do you have to put up with Rob sneaking out with his rods and disappearing for a few days like my wife does:)
Actually we don't fish. I would love to though. We just haven't gotten there. Too much to do at home first. We have a big dugout we are hoping to line it with a liner and then have our own fish. I think that is cute that you sneek out to go fishing. I don't think Rob would be able to sneek out, I would be right there with him.
Your most welcome! :)
Arrg i agree - soooo much to do at home - need to escape occasionally -And that's a great idea for an easily sustainable protein source, would you be going with Tilapia type of fish or trout?
Yes we don't seem to get away much. There is way to much to do. We were thinking trout for the dugout. It would be so fun to go out to the dugout and have some chairs there and fish. To me that would be the best.
The joy of having your own water... Trout love worms and maggots, they are good fighting fish and taste good too especially smoked -slurp slurp :)
I will keep that in mind. We made our own smoker and we love to smoked meat. Thanks so much!
bwahahahaha. I think she would only wish that I do that. Would give her a few days of peace and quiet! Besides, I catch whales in the middle of the bush. That is bad ass fishing being able to do that!
The best thing about going fishing is the return - The glint in the eye and smile on her face when i walk through the door :) - but then she could have the same smile when i leave...LOL
lol. Or the scold when I return empty handed and she wonders what I did for two days. Washing my lures takes time, patience and due diligence. Something that cannot be done with our rain water. Must be done with stream, river or lake water. No ways around it.
It's a beauty. Thank you for sharing. Do you eat all the fish you catch? And how do you cook them?
no - most of the fish i catch are returned safely - i occasionally take a few small fish around the 4lb size to cook up for the chickens.
