starfish

We got to fish four days and now the weather is going to be bad until the weekend and we will be able to fish then. Tomorrow we are going to try and get more sandfleas, we have went through all the last ones we got. I caught several starfish today, we only catch them when we fish around the inlet. This one is waving at me. IMG_20190326_181755.jpg
My husband caught 16 pompano that weighed 42 pounds, he had big fish. I caught 21 pompano that only weighed 35 pounds. Mine were smaller fish.IMG_20190326_185432.jpg
On the right is the size of his fish, the left is the size of mine. I did have 3 big ones. IMG_20190326_185900.jpg

I didn't realize they come in such a variety of sizes! Does it have anything to do with their age?

@scribblingramma yes the bigger fish are older. We can not keep any under 11 inches or over 24 inches, I am not sure why the 11 inch size is important but I would guess the 24 in would be the ones that spawn.

Why I still can't find those sandfleas?! I need a sandfleas detector!

@blacklux maybe you do not have any there. Have you ever seen fishermen with a sandflea rake on the beach? If you see a fisherman you could ask them if they have seen any.

No, I have never saw anyone doing the rake thing

@blacklux you must not have sandfleas there. :(

@blacklux you can google what they look like, there is even a video on how to catch them. I googled it to see if Puerto Rico had them but could not find an answer it gave me all kinds of bugs there. But did see the video of some guy catching but he was not using a rake like we use.

I never saw any fisherman catching one of those things here... maybe they don't use them?
