These sand sharks or as we call them "Sandie's" have been making a great appearance in the past 6 months on the KwaZulu Natal coastline...

We went out to a well known fishing spot at uvongo and i assisted her with baiting up and rigging up to try and catch some grunter or kob.

On her first cast she hooked into this very eager young sandie, with light tackle and a very harsh RIP tide, it was a miracle that she landed the fish, i was still baiting up my rod and she yelled she's got a shark on the line, when i finally managed to get to her (as the baiting area is far from where we were fishing) she already managed to land the fish.

It was a very fun and exciting fishing trip and with our dad who taught us to fish i was very happy to see she's still got it...

The bait was a simple prawn wrapped in squid/tjokka with 2 Teaser's to entice the fish.
