Tricked Out Kayak!! Lets say I have made some modifications.....
Basic Kayak to fishing machine.
Transformed from this:
- Modified Seat
- Rod holders
- Dash Board
- Drink Holder
- Cutting Board / Work Desk
- GoPro Mount
- Anchor Trolley
Seat:
The seat modification was by far the best. Sitting on the molded plastic seat was hard on my back and after a few hours I could not stay comfortable. You really need the back support after so many hours on the water. It took several weeks and looking at dozens of boat seats to find one that would fit the dimensions of the kayak. Then I had to make modifications to the seat to attach it to the Yak.
Now I could fish all day with this Frabrill seat.
Dashboard:
I needed a space somewhere in front of me to hold equipment and have a work area. I found myself constantly reaching back to the storage area behind the seat for gear. (drinks, fishing rods, pliers, bait or tackle)
I also wanted to add a camera to film the fish that were caught and the beautiful locations traveled. There are several different types of GroPro mounts and configurations available. The Dashboard did the trick and has helped with so many comforts to fishing on a kayak.
Rod Holders:
I have added a Rod Holder to the Dashboard and two behind the seat. There is also one in front of the Dashboard facing back toward the seat to help with changing tackle. These rod holders make it so easy to put down the rod and grab the paddle.
Cutting Board:
The Cutting Board / Work Space is a big help. This particular board has holes all around the board to hold different gear. I will show more on the different uses of this board in future posts. This is a must have for any serious Kayak Fishing setups.
I hope you enjoyed this posts and will follow me for future Kayak related posts. I will be adding fishing videos and some great places to fish on the Crystal Coast of North Carolina.
Any other Anglers out there on Steemit please let me know..... :)
