The fish which scares me just with it's sharp teeth and creepy eyes. This species of the fish is tough catch and you have to be careful when you successfully hook one. In other hand because of it's ferocious appearance there are attempts to keep this fish as a pet in freshwater aquariums but during it grows bigger it needs a lot of space so it's becoming to be a problem with such a huge water tanks.

The goliath tigerfish or african tigerfish  (Latin: Hydrocynus vittatus, Castelnau, 1861)

 West-Africa: Niger, Bénoué, Ouémé, Senegal, Ouémé (unconfirmed), Chad. Also found in the Volta and Mono rivers. Lower Guinea: Cross and Sanaga basins. Widespread throughout the Congo River basin. Also reported from Nile, Omo, Zambezi, Limpopo, Rovuma, Shire, Rufiji, Ruaha, Lake Tanganyika, Lake Rukwa, Lake Albert and Lake Kariba, Malagarazi, Okavango and lower reaches of coastal systems south to Pongolo.

 Short description 

 Diagnosis: 2 scale rows between lateral line and scaly process at pelvic-fin bases; eye < 70% of interorbital space. Dorsal-fin origin at about same level as pelvic-fin insertions; tips of adipose and dorsal fins black; forked edge of caudal fin black. 

 Biology 

 Prefers warm, well-oxygenated water, mainly larger rivers and lakes; all but the largest form roving schools of like-sized fish; aptly described as fierce and voracious; feeds on whatever prey is most abundant but Brycinus, Micralestes, Barbus, and Limnothrissa are favored. Useful food fish in some areas.
