Did you know that if you lock a goldfish in a dark room, he turns white?

A goldfish will change color without any kind of light after a long time.
The beautiful golden color will disappear and he will be white in color.

Color changes in fish are the most normal thing in the world.

When goldfish are born, they still have a brownish-greyish colour.
Only when they become larger will the color change to orange.
Rarely or never is the colour change due to a disease in the fish.

There are several other causes.
For example, it can be a hereditary abnormality in the fish.
It is therefore genetically determined that the fish is changing.
It can also be a result of old age. Due to the age of the fish, the pigment cells will work less well.
This is comparable to the graying of the hair in older people.
Furthermore, the whites of the fish can be caused by things like
the temperature of the water,
poor water quality,
the lack of certain substances in the diet,
the amount of sunlight, etc.
If these conditions change in a favorable way, it is certainly possible that the fish will get its colour back.

So, do not be afraid when your goldfish is suddenly a whitefish !
