Summary of changes:

  • Added in Windows version WebVR API, that allows direct connection between websites and virtual reality devices like Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.

  • Added VP9 hardware acceleration in Windows 10, using the GPU computer power to watch videos for reducing CPU usage and saving battery in some devices.

  • Setting to modify the number of process created by Firefox. Now you can set a max of process used by Firefox or let it dynamically decide how many use it for optimal performance.

  • The default installer for Windows now installs the 64 bit version for 64 bit OS with 2GB RAM or more. The other installers are still available.

  • Search bar now always directs to the secure version of the site when available (https)

  • Firefox does not support downgrades anymore. Users who install Firefox 55+ and later downgrade to an earlier version may experience issues with Firefox.

  • Only secure sites (https) can request geolocation of the user for security reasons (this also applies to Android version)

Sort:

I stopped using Firefox as my main browser back in 2013 when they disabled the option of selective javascript policy.
I switched to chrome, until it caused me problems.
Then I switched to Opera, until it became extremely rogue and destructive to my PC in terms of memory leaks, memory consumption and CPU time consumption.
Now I use a combination of Blisk (as my main browser), Chrome (due to its webpage translation capability) and Firefox (only for downloading videos through its add-ons downloadhelper and Flashgot)
