This week was the birthday of John Mahlon Marlin, the founder of the Marlin Firearms Company. The Marlin Model 1893 was made by Marlin Firearms in collaboration with the Union Metallic Cartridge Company (what would become Remington). The rifle was chambered in their own version of Winchester’s newly created .30-30.
