This picture is a picture of a department store in Cebu that was destroyed by fire that almost destroyed the whole of it. According to the workers and the witnesses, it started from the upper floor of the department store. The fire started at the fabrics store (according to the rumors) and spread fastly.

The fire lasted for almost 20 hours which made all the emergency fire and rescue units of different places near the said area came to help. It is said that the department store is not yet safe to enter because smoke is still heavy and still evident to the whole area.

It is so sad to see that the workers were trying to pull up themselves from the trauma they've experienced and the work they lost. They now had no work to do. The fire emergency units are still at the area for about 2 days securing the area to be a fire safety area.

Let us pray for the fast renovation of the store and for the employees mental health.

It took the fire two days to die down. Can you imagine all that toxins released? - I have a friend who works nearby in Escario and she said that the stink was so bad they could not breath. According to her it was unbearable.

This was pretty scary and surprising. I still wonder how this could have happened to a Mall as modern as Ayala.

Even me is surprised. Not expecting it to happen :(

Only if the government strive to improve their fire rescue system, it couldn't have lasted thay long and casualties could've been lessen.

yeah. They did help but it sad to say they didn't able to lessen the casualties.

What casualties? - Everybody got out in time. The fire started somewhere around 9:30 PM inside the department store so there were barely any people in there at that time and according to bystanders and news they all made it out in time. So nobody was harmed. All we are talking about is monetary loss. Probably a lot of it but still.
18 firetrucks responded that is way more then I remember showing up during the fire in Lahug a few years back, where more then 30 houses burned down to the ground and lives were lost.
No the response time here was impressive - it is only kind of hard to get inside a structure like that which is why they had to keep it contained and wait it out.
