Ämmälä, Lahti

The main purpose my visiting the village of Ämmälä was to take the train video in the previous post and upload it to DTube. I also took some photos of the village.

This farm is along the road close to where the railway crossing was. I'll turn right immediately after it.

A nice entry into the driveway

I was standing on a public road when I took this. I'll take a sharp turn to the left next.

This sign was on the wall of the yellow building. It says "The most beautiful scene in Päijänne Tavastia 1996 (prize), awarded by Hämeen Heimoliitto ("Ry" stands for registered association). The lynx in the placard the mascot of the historical province of Tavastia (Häme in Finnish).

That storehouse is actually slanted, not my camera.

That's my car. I came from there. It's so sunny that the image quality suffers.

The buildings are next to the road. There must have been hardly any cars when they were built.

I was on my way back already. That building is an old drying barn, I think.

I was going back to the suburbs already when I noticed this little pond.

There was a house across the pond.
