RE: Finish the Fiction Story Contest - Week #35 - @bananafish

This is almost deceptively skilful, and the ending can at a glance, seem like a simple pirate ending, swiftly dealing with the pirate hunters to sail on for another day, but there is a lot more here. You pick up so well on the style and tone of the first half, which is a tricky thing in itself, but you manage to maintain notes of the abstract focus developed so very well in the first half. The focus on the captain viewing her through the eyes of her crew, helps bring so much to both characters that it's impossible not to get caught up in willing her victory! Some pirate speech that measures up to the pirate master, and an ending that dreams of rum, couldn't ask for more!

Sort:

Indeed, an ending worth drinking rum for! Ha hargh! Anyways, I picked up on how deep the rabbit hole can truly go.

It's a maelstrom, LOL.

“Rum, beer, quests and mead! THESE ARE THE THINGS A PIRATE NEEDS! So hoist the flag and let’s set sail, under the sign of the storm of ale!”

Thanks for the wonderful feedback. The woman making the film The Diminished is in London for a week. If your down that way let me know.
