RE: Finish the Fiction Story Contest - Week #24 - @bananafish
Woo yeah! A space inspired ending! I was wondering if anyone would pick up on the sun rise happening at the same time as the change appeared, and going this sort of direction, and you have done it so well. The line between the reality and his drug addled mind is suitably blurry, making for a nice hint of ambiguity, whilst also prompting the reader to join his pondering over the sun!
The sunrise in the prompt inspired this for sure.
Now we are well past the deadline, I can say, this idea originally came from The City At World's End by Edmond Hamilton, I don't know if you are familiar with it, but an average town wakes up to find they have been transported to the distant future, and earth is now dead, fantastic novel, obviously didn't expect anything of that scale, and wanted to see all the different ways people would take it (surprised by the amount of zombies for sure) but I love your ending for going down the scifi very grand change route <3
Cool. Think we have two titles of his at work, The Three Planeteers and Captain Future Man of Tomorrow. Very prolific writer.
I have enjoyed everything of his I have stumbled across, The Stars My Brothers is an all time favourite short story of mine. Would you recommend those two titles? I may have to add them to my wishlist!
Haven't listened to them entirely. You can hear free samples on the following link. The Author tab will get you to his other book:
