Oh, oh gaby! This is just so well done, tinged with melancholy and lament, and her not even noticing what she was losing. The light falling on the broken figurine, all it represents, its just so perfect. The fact that Shiro only thinks of himself, and the suffering he will bear for it at the very end is a really moving touch.

The river, the streets, the lemonade losing it's sweetness, the shadow this casts over him, and then the line about not even knowing her name, there is just so much in this. You bring us the heartbreak in the horror with such skill.

The way you bring it back to the jacket in that last line, this is just such a powerful ending! <3
