Right from your beginning you give a nod to the readers with the break in Thoram's routine and priming us for everything to change. We're not left waiting as you keep the story moving to the confrontation between the Father and the boy. Thoram's acknowledgement of Flynn's disgust sets up the uncovering of his true nature and backstory with your distinctive style. I appreciate that you didn't keep the boy as some sort of wide eyed believer, instead giving him enough intelligence to question what he's being told.
