RE: Green Light - Finish The Story Contest - Week #53

in #finishthestory5 years ago

Thank you for such an unexpected ending, Maparari! I had as much fun reading it as you must have had when writing it.

You took off right from the start, keeping the action going without skipping a beat. Poor Hugo immediately has his hope of salvaging the situation dashed. His imminent fate close at hand, you surprise us with the sudden introduction of another melody than that of the storm and sea. Instead of railing against the realization that he may soon die alone in the lighthouse, he unquestioningly begins to dance to this mysterious new rhythm.

The wonder of if there is a supernatural element at play or if Hugo has become disconnected from reality immediately comes in. Your details take us through the scene, his long hair flying about as he sang like there was no tomorrow (fitting because that's what he thought). Then in comes the two men like a crash of lightning to reveal that it was all the result of a mind driven over the edge. Poor Hugo, rescued from the storm and the loneliness but not the breaking of his mind.

I think living in a lighthouse maybe he didn't have time for a hair cut :)
