Finish the Story Contest - WEEK #29 WINNERS!
HF20 Doom and Gloom mood? We laugh about it, proud storytellers!
Alright, let's cut the chatter, brave storytellers, the winners of the 8 STEEM are:
1st prize of 3 STEEM: @sidequest! "Not a nefarious hero, but one who illustrates the inner conflict of a human being. No heroic deed and the ego loses. To be able to follow this inner dialogue: a really good idea. Also the brief flare-up of energy, which was then dammed up again by thoughtfulness. You have let humanity win and calculated in all prizes." Top comment by @ehr.germany.
2nd prize of 2 STEEM: @marcoriccardi! I enjoyed this heroic tale! One of my favorite parts is when he's listening to mechanical ruckus of the pylons inside the station, and simultaneously imagining how graceful their dance must appear out in the silence of the vacuum. And viewing the whole procedure as a dance, leading up to a grand finale with the anti-nanite clouds as spangles, is just awesome.
Then there's the ending. I love that he closes his eyes at the last moment, and imagines seeing the earth restored when he opens them, and that's where you leave the story. That last little pause actually feels charged, like the electric moment after a performance, before the applause." Top comment by @ediblecthulhu.Popular vote of 1 STEEM: @theironfelix! A skilfully written and engaging story whose secret is a fast paced and lean narration (and, of course, space pirates!).
Best comment prize of 2 STEEM: this is a split between @ehr.germany and @ediblecthulhu, who will receive 1 STEEM each!
Special mention to @raj808 for his unique story dense of beautiful descriptive parts. It's also worth mentioning the work he did in portraying a character with a complex personality in an equally complex scenario. Unfortunately, this was the longest (or the second longest) story of all the contest from the beginning, with more than 1000 words.
If you like this contest..SPREAD THE GOSPEL! We're grateful for your resteeming and word of mouth. Everything helps to grow together!
A special thank to @theironfelix, @raj808, @brisby, @maverickinvictus, @cyemela, @marcoriccardi, @calluna, @oivas, @anixio, @ntowl for their precious delegations, making this project a reality!
GOOD LUCK, BRAVE STORYTELLERS!
“UwU ~ Thanks for the popular vote fellow potassiumnites. Congrats to the winners and here here to more people entering in! (The problem with HF20 maybe gone now, but lemme make true of my comment.)”
Felix I wanted finally to check @anarchyhasnogods' project.. when the whole mess happened. How are things over there after this RC fuckup?
Surprisingly, we managed through it and are going by alright. This mess had given us time to actually fix some bugs that were found and better optimization with the site as well.
I'm glad to know. Let me check it now..
Things now are running smooth again but I still am a bit lame and not so much in the flow.
Thanks for appreciating my comment.
I congratulate the winners!
Must juggle myself in place before I decide what to write about next. :)
Stay well, @bananafish
I feel you! It looks like I'm in the same mood. This mess disoriented us a bit.. in italy we use to say "I'm not entirely in the bubble" refering to that tool that builders use to make a wall straight 😉 See you on Wednesday!
Ahhaahhaha! I had to think twice to understand the bubble thing. But now I got it!
Yes, looking forward to Wednesday! :)
who's not a bit crooked nowadays lol ..ciao!
This was a ton of fun as always! :D And a big boost after getting forked over the past few days. Thanks so much for the contest, and congrats to everyone on the fantastic stories! <3
Thank you! This made my day yesterday when I was feeling pretty annoyed at all of steem.
I was really struck by @raj808’s story as well — it almost knocked out calluna’s as my favorite.
The main driver is originality and also a certain coherence/maturity that you showed and made me opt for you without esitation. Figures of speech and descriptions are not the core elements of evaluation generally, altough a sure plus. @raj808 put himself out of the contest for the word number, othewise he would have surely been rewarded. See you on Wednesday!
