Acorns referral promo has closed! Now there's a tense 10 day wait…

Do I get my $1000 bonus or not? Ahhh the tension...

In May, Acorns has a referral promotion: sign up 12 friends, get $1000.

Neat. Now there were some criteria... like obviously they have to keep their account open for the month and yadayada. Only in 10 days I know how many of the 25+ people I referred qualified. I have a gut feeling it's gonna be exactly half. I spent a few hundreds on the campaign, so it'd be gut-wrenching if I end up with only 11!

At $5 per referral, the screenshot shows that I have 11. It just ticked over to 12 today... what happened to the other half? We'll never know. More important to me: was the 12th one in time? Am I going to get my $1000 bonus?

Their new promo is easier, 5 people on Acorns Later. It's a double sign-up though, so I'll have to guide people through all the steps making sure that I get them to sign up correctly.

I'm thinking to just pay people on Upwork for signing up! Easier than cold contacting. Could that work? What do you think?
