Recession of 2008

Ever since the financial collapse of 2008 I have questioned whether we really need banks.
Banks were and are the main contributors to a faulty economic system built on debt. Financial institutions in commercials tout there ability to work for you and make your dreams come true. Maybe you want to own a home or send your son or daughter to college. These goals can be achieved as long as you mortgage your life away.

Where is the opportunity to make intrest on the money that the bank holds for you? The intrest that the bank pays for a regular savings account might be 1.0% APY.
If you had $100 in your account you would make $1.00 in one year in that account, that's a total waste of time.
If you had $1000 in your account you would make $10.00 for the year. In ten years you would collect $100. That same $100 doesn't even keep up with the increase in cost of living %2 per year.

If I walked into a bank and asked for a $2,000 loan I would be lucky to get an interest rate under 10 %.

Banks basically tell us we will hold your money for you and the account holder takes a loss.

I posted an article a little while back titled should you delegate your steem power and I showed how a person can make 1% a week delegating steem power.

The banks, credit, and debt are a big problem within our free flowing economic system. Many people get drawn into the trap of loans and debt trying to chase the American dream.

I point these things out because I believe in a better way of living and conducting business. Why do we need a middle man (banks) to tell us when, where, and how. Steemit (facebook cryptonite), bitcoin (every banks kryptonite) and all of the other supporting altcoins that can pay the investor back that holds them in the form of intrest, dividends, or profit sharing are the future. A more harmoneouse financial atmosphere where creativity is rewarded, and the size of someone's account no matter how small doesn't automatically eliminate them from participation. I think we have many components of that here on steemit.

I'm on a mission towards financial freedom and thats why I joined the crypto movement in December 2017. The a ability to choose where, when and how.
