Synopsis: A young girl Faye, trying to make her life successful as a musician meets a record producer named Cook. As all stories go they begin a romantic relationship. When another musician BV is introduced in their life, Faye immediately falls for him and they start an affair. But she hides from BV that she was ever in a relationship with Cook. Being not able to handle the guilt for any longer Faye told BV about her and cooks relationship. This saddens BV and then they break up. Faye after only a few months later starts a relationship another woman named Zoey and at the same time cook falls for a kindergarten teacher, Rhonda. Unable to handle cooks authoritative fetish in their sexual life Rhonda commits suicide making Cook fall into distress and depression. Later BV and Faye start their relationship again as Faye leaves Zoey. BV and Faye move to Bv’s hometown and they start their lives there.

Review: Everything should seem artistic when you represent it in a poetic theme, even taking a dump I assume. But is taking a dump poetic in any sense? I think not. Song to Song proves answers my question in many ways.

Imagine, you are on a boat. Suddenly you get seasick and you need to vomit. But you are with some of your friends and if you do so before them it will make you a laughing stock. So now whenever some vomit comes up you get it down back again. Would it be an enjoyable experience for you? I hope not. I know I wouldn't enjoy that. That exact feeling you imagined is what I experienced while watching the movie. Terrence Mallick wrote the story himself. But I imagine when the budget passed for this movie he thought to himself what a bad story he wrote. Like an undercooked potato. To hide the uncooked raw taste what do you do? You pour loads and loads of salt. And in this case, he used cinematography and a stellar ensemble that is appealing to any movie enthusiast.

But his shaky wide angled artistic long shots could not save the movie. Not a single thing in the movie made sense except the sex scenes. It was like a school going drug-addicted teenagers wet dream of making this sort of movie. Unrealistic conversations, unnecessary narrations and over the top unrelated soundtracks are bonuses.

They say the best worst movie of all-time was “The Room”. In my opinion, this one is second in that list. I would urge you that if this movie gets your attention just turn you face the other way. Sleep walking for two hours would be more productive than watching this.
