An animated film that tests my defilements
You know there are animations with funny characters and bright colors that are intended to make children happy and there are also animations with impressive visuals that target to mock emotions of adult audiences? Sausage Party is not both.
I never expected to see an animated film that tested my brain impurities. I think the more grubby the minds of the audience, the more jokes are broken. Sausage Party is a vulgar animation, but the best part is when the film brings it through a suggestive scene; he does not show us clearly, but makes us think about it. When we understand, we chuckle, whether it's laughing at his jokes or laughing at his own imagination.
The Sausage Party is another animation that uses the Pixar Toy Story formula after The Secret Life of Pets a few months ago. He tells about the secret life of familiar objects we do not know. Food, fruit and vegetables also have faces, legs, hands and behave like humans. Why can not we see it? This film provides explanations nyeleneh involving drugs. And despite having a funny character, do not ever let your child / sister watch this movie, unless you want to make them traumatized.
The story takes place in a supermarket, where the food live with joy, singing "The Great Beyond" (written by Alan Menken, yup songwriter for Beauty and the Beast) while waiting for the moment where they will be chosen by humans and taken to "heaven". Or so they believe.
Frank (Seth Rogen) is one of the packaged sausages along with 8 other sausages, including mini sausage, Barry (Michael Cera) and sotoy sausage, Carl (Jonah Hill). Frank can not wait to be brought to "heaven" and "united" (you know what I mean) with his girlfriend, a hotdog bread named Brenda (Kristen Wiig). He can get out of the packaging and fondle Brenda if he wants, but this will make them both no longer "fresh" and should be thrown into the trash.
The harmonious life in this supermarket is shaken when a jam (Danny McBride) returns after being accidentally bought by a human, and he brings bad news. The "heaven" they are headed is not a place of happiness but an arena of murder. Food is skinned, sliced and cut into pieces!
But it's too late. Frank, Brenda, et al have been put in a trolley. A chaos that is presented by the tense sequence that flickers terror of 9/11, creates horror with a sadistic image (at least, for the size of food) and screams of panic everywhere, which fortunately makes them escape the slaughter.
While searching the way back to the shelves, they ventured into the supermarket to find the truth. When the film does not communicate about sex, it releases offensive amateur magazines against anything, including ethnicity and religion. There is a female taco (Salma Hayek) who is of course Mexican origin who has an interest in Brenda, and Lavash (David Krumholtz) Arab and Bagel (Edward Norton) Jews who always quarrel when they do not know the case originally.
To give urgency, the film also creates an antagonist in the form of a woman hygiene product (Nick Kroll) that can power-up by consuming other products. You certainly realize that he is not food. Here I find an inconsistency. So are all products a living thing in the Sausage Party universe? Sometimes yes, sometimes not. There is a toilet paper character that only serves to give a joke about the activity of boker. But the former Stephen Hawking (Scott Underwood) chewing gum may be categorized as food.
Directed by Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan, but when looking at the end product, the film is his film Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, who wrote the script. The film only facilitates to transfer their distinctive vulgar jokes into anthromorphic animations. I had a grim time watching the final part of the epilogue extended version. This section is literally a food porn and watches them orgy entirely uncomfortable.
Is the Sausage Party a good movie? I do not know about this. But this movie is so vulgar and offensive that I find it as a funny movie, because I can hardly believe how the filmmaker packed this sick joke into an animated movie. I enjoy it. Wait, this may imply something to my image.
