FilmFriday: Snowpiercer - The last Train on Earth (Also in English)

ein neuer Beitrag zu dem #FilmFriday, initiiert durch #javehimself. Diesmal gibt es einen Film der wirklich 2013 total an mir vorbei gegangen ist und von dem ich mehr als positiv überrascht bin SNOWPIERCER. In diesem Film geht es um die letzten Überlebend der Menscheheit die in einem niemals stillstehenden Zug um die ganze Welt fahren. Aber mehr dazu im Plot. Diese wirklich gelungene Mischung aus Asiatischem und Hollywood Kino ist Einzigartig in seiner Form und auch die Darsteller sind bunt gemischt aus Asiatischen Stars und Hollywood Darstellen wie z.b. Chris Evens. Gerade aber die typische Bild Gewaltigkeit von Hollywoodfilmen und das asiatische Handwerk mit Bild, Licht und Ton zu spielen fällt hier sehr stark auf. Da werden Szenen die eigentlich nicht wirklich eklig sind wenn man Sie erzählt, zu einem graus beim Anschauen was auch so gewollt ist. Oder hoffnungslose Situationen durch Kampfgeist und geschickte Taten gewendet wie es in Asiatischen Kinofilmen oft der Fall ist. Und immer wieder besticht der Film durch seine Bildgewalt geschickt in den Anfängen des Films zurückgehalten wird Schritt für Schritt im Film die Welt aufgebaut und erweitert. Ein wirklich gut inszenierter und an die trickreicher Film, der seinesgleichen sucht muss ich sagen. Er ist bei weitem nicht der beste Endzeitfilm aller zeit, aber definitiv der Einzigartigste den ich gesehen hab.
Director und Writer
Vom Writer Joon-ho Bong habe ich persönlich vor diesem Film noch nichts gehört da er aber mit dem Film Okja wieder eine Mischung aus internationalem Cast zusammengestellt hat, steht dieser schon auf meiner Liste. Jake Gyllenhaal und Tilda Swinton, die ebenfalls in Snowpiercer eine Top Rolle besetzt sind da mit von der Partie. Ich finde es gut neue Wege auszuprobieren, aber man muss sich halt trauen und das tut der werte Herr. Weiter so!
Mein Tipp
Lasst das Szenario auf wirken und erwartet nicht von Anfang an die volle Ladung Aktion und Interaktion, der Film baut sich trotz der immer auftauchenden Aktion Stück für Stück auf und zieht einen nach und nach in den Bann.
Plot (Spoilerfrei)
17 Jahre sind vergangen seitdem die Menschheit entschieden hat der globalen Klimaerwärmung entgegenzuwirken. Die fatale Folge, wir haben uns selbst in eine neue Eiszeit gestürzt in der nichts überleben kann. Nur einzig ein Zug eines damals großen Visionäres fährt um die ganze Welt, in stetiger Bewegung. Dieses Kolossal Perpetuum Mobile beherbergt die letzten paar Tausend Menschen, in zwei Klassen geteilt fristen die einen im Dunkel der letzten Wagons im Zug ein hinreichendes Leben. Während die anderen in Luxus schwelgen. Dies führte bereits zu Aufständen im Zug die jedoch brutal niedergeschlagen wurden, die Bewohner sind nun wieder soweit es nicht mehr auszuhalten, Ein neuer Aufstand wird geplant um die beiden Anführer Curtis und Gilliam, Ziel, die Maschine am Kilometer entfernten anderen Ende des Zugs unter kontrolle zu bringen. Eine wahre Schlacht entbrennt um die herrschaft der letzten Bastion der Menschheit.

Ein großteil der Gebirge Szenen wurden am Hintertuxer Gletscher in Tirol gedreht, was ganz interessant für die D-A-CH Community ist denke ich. Der FIlm ist in den USA leider nicht sehr gut angekommen, viele Kritiker behaupten der Filme wäre zu anspruchsvoll und intelligent für das Amerikanische Publikum. In Südkorea gehört der Film bis heute zu den erfolgreichsten Filmen überhaupt, um hier den krassen Gegensatz zu zeigen.

a new contribution to the #FilmFriday, initiated by #javehimself. This time there's a movie that really went totally past me in 2013 and I'm more than positively surprised SNOWPIERCER.
This film is about the last survivors of the human hit that travel around the world in a never-ending train. But more about that in the plot. This really successful mixture of Asian and Hollywood cinema is unique in its form and also the actors are colorfully mixed from Asian stars and Hollywood actors such as Chris Evens. But especially the typical picture violence of Hollywood movies and the Asian craft of playing with picture, light and sound is very striking here. Scenes that aren't really disgusting when you tell them become a horror when you look at them, which is what you want. Or hopeless situations turned around by fighting spirit and skilful deeds as it is often the case in Asian movies. And again and again the movie captivates with its power of images, cleverly held back in the beginning of the film, step by step the world is built up and expanded. A really well staged and tricky film, which is looking for its equal, I have to say. It's by far not the best end-time film of all time, but definitely the most unique one I've seen.
Director and Writer
I personally haven't heard anything from the writer Joon-ho Bong before this movie, but with the movie Okja he has again put together a mixture of international cast, this is already on my list. Jake Gyllenhaal and Tilda Swinton, who also play a top role in Snowpiercer, are part of it. I think it's good to try out new ways, but you have to dare and that's what the dear Lord does. Keep it up!
A tip
Let the scenario take effect and don't expect the full load of action and interaction from the very beginning, the film builds itself up piece by piece despite the action that always appears and gradually pulls you into its spell.
Plot (no spoiler)
17 years have passed since mankind decided to counteract global warming. The fatal consequence is that we have plunged ourselves into a new ice age in which nothing can survive. Only one train of a then great visionary travels around the whole world, in constant motion. This colossal perpetuum mobile accommodates the last few thousand people, divided into two classes, some live a sufficient life in the darkness of the last cars in the train. While the others indulge in luxury. This already led to riots in the train which were brutally crushed, the inhabitants are now again as far as it is not to be endured any more, a new riot is planned around the two leaders Curtis and Gilliam, target to bring the machine at the miles distant other end of the train under control.
