FilmFriday: Blade Runner 2049 - Electric Sheep again (Also in English)

ein neuer Beitrag zu dem #FilmFriday, initiiert durch #javehimself. Heute geht es um einen Film aus dem letzten Jahr und einen echten SciFi Giganten wenn ich so sagen darf.
Blade Runner 2049 ist ein Film der es nach vielen Jahren des Originals geschafft hat dieses in Frieden zu lassen. Er verändert nichts an der Grundstory und erweitert lediglich das bereits vorhandene Universum um eine weitere grosse Geschichte. Diese ist sowohl Bildgewaltig, Atmosphärisch und auch sehr gut durchdacht, wie ich finde. Auch wie im Original geht es nicht darum eine wahnsinnig epische Geschichte zu erzählen sondern viel mehr geht es darum dem Zuschauer die Welt und die in Ihr befindlichen Protagonisten so nah wie möglich zu bringen. Man spürt förmlich wie die Charaktere denken. Dieser Film und auch das original ist sicherlich nicht jedermanns Sache das ist gewiss. Größtenteils ist er ruhig, stimmungsvoll und von daher mit Musik und langen Grossaufnahmen hinterlegt. Aber gerade das ist es was Blade Runner 2049 ausmacht. Er hebt sich so stark vom Mainstream ab das man sehr tief in diese Welt eintaucht und gerade in den Szenen wo es zur Sache geht, man total gebannt ist und nicht vergessen darf zu atmen. Ja ich bin ein Fan des ersten Teils, ein Fan von Philip K. Dick und auch ein Fan dieses Films. Aber lasst euch nicht täuschen von meiner Euphorie, der FIlm ist ein weiterer Meilenstein in Sachen Zukunftsaussicht geworden und wird dem großen Autor absolut gerecht. Ein wort zu Philip K. Dick, vielen denk ich ist nicht klar was dieser Mann für die SciFi Gemeinde vollbracht hat. Mir würde auf Anhieb nur Jules Verne einfallen von dem auch annähernd viele Geschichten verfilmt wurden.

Tatsächlich finden sich auf Wikipedia nicht die vollständige Liste der Verfilmungen, wenn man Dick viel gelesen hat wird einem allerdings beim anschauen so mancher SciFi Filme bewusste wo sich diese mit Ihrer Idee bedient haben.
Regie und Producer
Da ich Denis Villeneuve bereits im Beitrag zu Arrivel vorgestellt habe gibt es hier nicht mehr allzuviel zu sagen. Es bleibt noch zu sagen das der Großmeister persönlich , Ridley Scott, als Executive Producer maßgeblich an der Story mitgewirkt hat.
Mein Tipp
Den ersten Film anzuschauen ist ein muss, da die komplette Handlung auf den Ereignissen aus dem ersten Teil basieren. Sowohl die Charaktere als auch die Menschheitsgeschichte baut auf dem ersten Teil auf. Ihr solltet Fit sein wenn Ihr euch den Film anschaut, er dauert fast drei Stunden und hat mehrere Abschnitte in denen wenig geredet wird und es eher ruhig von statten geht.
Plot (Spoilerfrei allerdings nicht für Blade Runner (2019))
Im Jahre 2049, haben die Menschen und auch die Androiden, die es nur noch mit begrenzter Lebensdauer gibt, es geschafft eine Koexistenz auf der Erde zu vereinbaren.
Der sehr weit entwickelte Android K arbeitet als Skinner, das heißt er jagt andere Androiden die Ihre Lebensdauer unerlaubt erweitern oder gar noch alte nicht erlaubte Modelle sind und bringt diese zur strecke. Er tötet Sie! Bei einem seiner Aufträge muss er weit raus aus der Smog verseuchten Stadt, zu den davor liegenden Gewächshäusern. Da jegliches Ökosystem auf der Erde zusammengebrochen ist, gibt es weder noch natürliche Tiere oder Pflanzen, die Menschen ernähren sich von dem Protein was in den Gewächshäusern in Form von Maden gezüchtet wird. Nach beendigung seines Auftrags findet K am Tatort ein 20 Jahre altes Skelett was zum einen eine Seriennummer aufweist (ein Android ist) aber auch zum anderen anatomisch aufzeigt dass der Tod durch eine Geburt verursacht wurde. War dieser Android Schwanger, ist das möglich?

Was ungewöhnlich ist das der Film bereits einen Tag in den deutschen Kinos lief bevor er in den USA ausgestrahlt wurde. Des weiteren hat der Film dutzende verschiedene Auszeichnungen gewonnen, natürlich sehr viele für die visuellen Effekte, die wirklich sehr beeindruckend sind. Der Film selbst weist einige religiöse zusammenhänge auf, da z.b. der Replikantin Rachael wie Jakobs Frau in der Bibel keine Kinder bekommen konnte und dann nach langer Zeit den Sohn Josef zur Welt brachte, achtet darauf wie Offizier K später noch genannt wird im Film.

a new contribution to the #FilmFriday, initiated by #javehimself. Today is about a movie from last year and a real SciFi giant, if I may say so. Blade Runner 2049 is a movie that after many years of the original has managed to leave it alone. It does not change anything in the basic story and merely adds another great story to the already existing universe. It is both powerful, atmospheric and very well thought out, I think. Also as in the original it is not about telling an insanely epic story but much more about bringing the world and the protagonists in it as close as possible to the viewer. You can literally feel how the characters think. This movie and also the original is certainly not everyone's cup of tea - that's for sure. For the most part, it is quiet, atmospheric and therefore backed by music and long close-ups. But that's what makes Blade Runner 2049. It stands out so strongly from the mainstream that you dive very deeply into this world and especially in the scenes where it goes to the point, you are totally fascinated and must not forget to breathe. Yes I am a fan of the first part, a fan of Philip K. Dick and also a fan of this movie. But don't be fooled by my euphoria, the FIlm has become another milestone in terms of future prospects and does absolutely justice to the great author. A word to Philip K. Dick, many I don't know what this man has accomplished for the SciFi community. I would only think of Jules Verne at the first go, of whom also nearly many stories were filmed.

Director and Producer
Since I introducedDenis Villeneuve already in the contribution toArrivel there is not much more to say here. It remains to be said that the grandmaster himself, Ridley Scott, as executive producer, played a major role in the story.
A tip
Watching the first movie is a must, as the complete plot is based on the events of the first part. Both the characters and the human story are based on the first part. You should be fit when you watch the movie, it lasts almost three hours and has several parts in which little is talked about and it is rather quiet.
Plot (no spoiler but not for Blade Runner (2019))
In the year 2049, the humans and also the androids, which exist only with limited life span, have managed to agree on a coexistence on earth.
The very advanced Android K works as a skinner, i.e. it hunts other androids that extend their lifespan without permission or are old models that are not yet allowed and brings them to life. He's killing you! On one of his missions he has to get far out of the smog-contaminated city, to the greenhouses in front of it. Since every ecosystem on earth has collapsed, there are neither natural animals nor plants, humans feed on the protein cultivated in the greenhouses in the form of maggots. At the end of his mission, K finds a 20-year-old skeleton at the scene of the crime, which on the one hand has a serial number (an Android) but on the other hand also anatomically shows that death was caused by birth. Was this Android pregnant, is that possible?

What is unusual is that the film was shown in German cinemas one day before it was shown in the USA. Furthermore, the film has won dozens of different awards, of course many for the visual effects, which are really very impressive. The film itself has some religious connections, since e.g. the replicant Rachael like Jacob's wife could not have children in the Bible and then after a long time gave birth to the son Josef, pays attention to what officer K is later still called in the film.

Jaja, Denis Villeneuve hat einfach den Dreh raus! Ich freue mich auch schon auf seine Dune-Verfilmung!
Ich kann dir von ihm auch noch den Film Prisoners ans Herz legen, falls du ihn nicht ohnehin schon gesehen hast. Ich wollte tatsächlich heute die Review dazu schreiben, aber sie kommt dann erst nächste Woche, weil mir was dazwischengekommen ist... :D
