Why the Fuck Should I Watch: BUMBLEBEE

Why the fuck should you watch “Bumblebee”?
You love John Cena and absolutely hate Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson. Cena should have won all the fights in that very serious sport called wrestling. It’s totally rigged against him.
• You like to see things getting broken. It soothes your anxieties and makes you smile.
• You like to see prequels. It’s much more calm - no need to think that anything can go utterly wrong, cause you know who's alive in the future and the world will be fine.
• You believe that CGI is the best thing that has happened to the movie industry and possibly to the world itself.

“Bumblebee” is the 6th installment in the Transformers franchise but it’s the first Transformers movie that Michael Bay didn’t direct. Turns out that somebody somewhere understood that a good movie should have a story, and some structure, and some reasonable motives, and maybe something new to show….aaand maybe some emotions that viewers can relate to. Anyways after the total disaster “Transformers: The Last Knight” there’s some new blood in the director’s chair (Travis Knight) and it shows.

By no means it’s a great Oscar worthy movie. The plot is simple, it uses generic plot points and is predictable, but for a change, the movie has a clear story and really proves: less is more. “Bumblebee” is a slower movie than it’s predecessors and thanks to that there is some actual character development happening (In the fucking transformers movie! Wow!).

Besides Bumblebee there are two new main characters: soon to be 18 years old girl Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld) and agent Burns (John Cena). Hailee Steinfeld does a good job with her character and acting. And Cena – well, the part suited him perfectly because Cena can do a perfect “only one emotion face”.

For those who see the word “Transformers” for the first time: Transformers are living machine aliens that can turn themselves into Earth’s cars and planes and so on. They are fighting with similar aliens who are called Decepticons …because Decepticons are bad. And it goes on and on and on in every fucking movie. So…yeah, this movie also has the same plot. But it has some nice humor, top notch CGI action and even some touching emotions (provided by Charlie and blinking Bumblebee), so if you haven’t had popcorn for a long time then “Bumblebee” might be a good reason to change that.

Why the fuck you shouldn’t watch “Bumblebee”?
• You like when the Hero of any movie talks A LOT. Quiet ones are boring and insecure.
• You are that one (boring) guy who thinks that giving deadly aliens a free access to our world’s satellites is a bad thing.
You use your brain for thinking…regularly – even when watching movies, even when arguing with your girlfriend. I mean there are times in life when thinking and logic really doesn’t help, believe me.
• You hate when people are making tons of money with dumb shit.
