Just aired in America, 'Thor: Ragnarok' beat the 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' to become the Marvel movie with the seventh highest debut of all time. Meanwhile in China, he also appeared impressive. Here's a box office recap this week.

Everyone seems to be happy with Thor: Ragnarok . Critics agree on calling it the - least - best movie Thor. Similarly, the audience who gave it CinemaScore "A". But more fun of course Marvel and Disney. They again had a fairly large hit , even for the size of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Just released in America, Thor: Ragnarok instantly harvest $ 122.7 million . If traced in the debut of all MCU films, it is the seventh best-selling debut of all time, beating Spider-Man: Homecoming ($ 117.0 million) and just under Iron Man 2 ($ 128.1 million). Do not ask again if he compared with Thor ($ 65.7 million) and Thor: The Dark World ($ 85.7 million) is clearly lagging far behind.

From all over the world, Thor: Ragnarok has grossed $ 431 million from views since last week. This week, he earned an additional $ 153.7 million from outside America, of which $ 56.3 million comes from China alone. In Mexico, he recorded a $ 10.8 million debut. Germany is equally solid, contributing $ 8.9 million.

As a counter-programming , there is A Bad Moms Christmas which was not as strong as its predecessor. The film made its debut $ 16.7 million , down considerably compared to Bad Moms which scored $ 23.8 million last year. CinemaScore is also lower, ie "B" (whereas Bad Moms used to get "A"). Considering this, it is impossible A Bad Moms Christmas is able to pursue the impressive performance of his first film that lasted 13 weeks at the box office to collect $ 113.2 million. Especially next week he has eleven-twelve rival in the same genre, Daddy's Home 2 .

Even so, not much is at stake considering the budget is only $ 28 million. Besides its performance outside the United States is also tolerable. Of the 15 countries, A Bad Moms Christmas earned an additional $ 6.7 million , bringing its total global debut to $ 28.3 million .

Jigsaw fell to third place by 60.6% by earning $ 6.6 million . Small, but profitable because its total domestic income ( $ 28.7 million ) has passed its minimum budget ($ 10 million). An additional $ 13.7 million from 62 countries makes its global revenue total to $ 59.5 million .

Boo 2! A Madea Halloween has collected $ 42.8 million for 3 weeks, which this week earned $ 4.5 million .

An additional $ 3.2 million made Geostorm's total domestic revenue to $ 28.9 million for 3 weeks. Meanwhile, its global revenue total is $ 183.2 million thanks to an additional $ 18 million from 65 countries.

Murder on the Orient Express is already showing in the UK for $ 6.6 million .

Thor ragnarok made Thor interesting for me and i guess for most people out there. When the 1st Avengers movie came out of most fans were going gaga over Ironman and Hulk without even considering being a fan of the god of thunder.

I think the serious and gritty tone of Thor 1 and 2 didn't worked well too. Maybe people are tired of the superhero cliches, yes ragnarok doesn't had much of those super hero cliches and the jokes were on point this time. When people go into the theaters what they want is pure entertainment and Thor ragnarok delivers it.

Even though i felt that they should have reduced the jokes st serious situations errm "Spoilers ahead" the climax scene where Asgard gets destroyed, i mean who would crack a joke when your homeland gets destroyed yeah after a ll it is just a movie so that's fine and since it will connect to Infinity War probably the ship in the credit scene " Again Spoilers" must of be of Thanos and it will lead to a much serious tune and to the events to follow in Infinity war.
