Everything you need to know about Bright, Netflix’s first $100M blockbuster

in #film7 years ago (edited)

Few days ago, Netflix debuted the first trailer for Bright, it's $100 million blockbuster fantasy movie, at San Diego Comic-Con.

The film is set in a futuristic “fucked-up" version of Los Angeles, according to director David Ayer. There are three types of citizens: elves, humans and orcs. As in the social hierarchy of today's society, it is important above all that the film focuses on the class structure in place.

Bright is also magic, explosions, car thieves and the lost wizard, which is why it's an eclectic and ambitious film. Even with a trailer, it may be a bit confusing to attempt to define what Bright. By the hand of Comic-Con, Ayer, and the film, they broke a little more, trying to make it as current as possible for viewers, who could still be confused with the concept.

We discussed some of the most important issues that we have gone through the panel and are listed below - more laconic answers - to help.

Bright will be released on December 22 only Netflix.

What does bright refer to?

Bright is a user with magic abilities. People, for example, are not in this world, and they can not own them. From what we can say on the basis of what we have heard, the only creatures with magic powers are the elves. Ayer added that in this world, the elves are considered to be the most elite class - "one percent" as she mentioned.

So about that ... what’s the difference between elves, humans and orcs? Besides the obvious.

One of the most important themes is Bright classism. If the elves are one percent, there are their leaders. They have their beauty, luxurious lifestyle, dear fashion, and privileged lifestyle. Then there are people: ordinary people and citizens working in the middle class and living in the middle class in the suburbs. Finally, there are orcs who are oppressed and kept low. They are discriminated against because of their appearance. Ayer described these people who "keep their way to serving their food, but do not respect."

How does that tie into the movie?

One of the key features of Bright is an orc named Nick Jakoby (Joel Edgerton). Jakoby is the first ORC to be named in the Los Angeles Police Department and must compete with the immediate dismissal of her colleague with her new partner Scott Ward (Will Smith) and all the other people he meets.

Because he joined the LAPD at a time when other orcs have stood a mass force of discrimination, Jakoby also takes the heat of his or her companions. During the panel, conductor Will Smith joked about how he felt at the other end of the discrimination related to LAPD. Although Smith joke, police action in Los Angeles, how subjects can see the different types of role in the film.

So Jakoby and Ward ... I take it they’re not friends?

Not at first, no. When another official asked Smith why the character he is working with in renting diversity can be heard to explain the importance of the community when they are tracked. As the trailer continues, it is clear that Ward has a certain contempt for her new partner - something Jakoby also emphasizes. But as with any blockbuster, the accumulation of events will lead them to rely on each other and probably even enjoy the company of each other.

Do we know what this unfortunate event is?

Yes! According to actress Lucy Fry, everything falls back to the magic wand. Very important wizard. Debtpocket is an ancient remnant and only those who have followed the proper training process can use it. When a person tries to perform Smith, they die.

Also, I learned a little bit about why this wand has become a tool of choice. Noomi Rapace's character is one chosen elk, and he was the person who was the first-born of the first magic wand, using his hands to get it. When he pulled his body, he has lost, and it ended up in the hands of Tikka, the character of Fry. Yeti does not do the character of Prey because it is used for destruction.

Anyway, Jakoby and Ward face the Tikka and the magic to send them their adventure.

So Noomi Rapace’s character is evil?

Although the antagonist film, Rapace said his character did not see that. The actor suggests that his character "tries to create something beautiful, but its methods are pretty bad."

OK, I think I've got this.

It’s pretty straightforward, really.

Last question: When does it come out?

The film is only available on Netflix on December 22. One might say that the future looks bright.
