Resistance (2020) – Movie Trailer
A few days ago, I was watching the legendary Schindler's List (1993) movie on TV, and when I saw the trailer for Resistance, it sounded similar to it… Anyways, the story is situated in a similar time, but in the other part of occupied Europe. If I got it right, the movie is based on the inspiring true story and real people of that time. It’s interesting that this story was untold before, but it’s always like that in life… The true superheroes don’t wear capes…
The story follows Marcel Mangel, a Jewish actor who joined the French Resistance to save as many lives as he can, without shooting and killing. And he did it… He saved thousands of orphans children from the hands of the Nazis. He used his acting skills to teach children how to survive in the war and the horrors of the Holocaust…
The director and writer of the movie is Jonathan Jakubowicz, a well-known Venezuelan filmmaker and writer by the movie Secuestro express (2005), which was nominated for the Best Foreign Independent Film at the British Independent Film Festival. He has also written and directed the movie Hands of Stone (2016), with Edgar Ramírez, Usher Raymond and Robert De Niro in the main roles.
In the main roles are Academy Award nominee Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network (2010), Zombieland (2009), The Squid and the Whale (2005)), another Academy Award nominee Ed Harris (The Truman Show (1998), Appaloosa (2008), Pollock (2000)), Golden Globe nominee Edgar Ramírez (Gold (2016), Point Break (2015), Domino (2005)), Matthias Schweighöfer (TV Series You Are Wanted (2017-2018), The Most Beautiful Day (2016), The Manny (2015)), Clémence Poésy (In Bruges (2008), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (2010), Last Love (2013)) and others.
