Have you ever felt over powered? You go into a room full of people, but you are invisible to them. The feeling of powerlessness can scar a person for life. "The Post" is a movie about overcoming these problems. Kathrine Graham is one such lady who went from being a rich and delicate girl to one of the most influential and powerful women in the history. Her leadership played a key role in making Washington Post a well known paper. This movie documents her character defining of Kathrine Graham.

During the Vietnam war a lot of soldiers were being killed for the sake of the country. Nixon's presidency was in control and on the outer side they made everyone believe that the war was very successful. But, in reality many if the top men of the country were trying to hide skeletons in their closets. One of the members of the conspiracy manages to steal the top secret files that reveal the dirty secrets of the government. He releases it to the press, but the government threatens to sue the news papers that tries to release it. The Washington Post newspaper will be in a financial crisis will be slowly fading away. Kathrine Graham had to act fast to save the newspaper. Being born and bought up with a silver spoon will have handicapped her while facing the harsh realites. The movie is about Katherine's struggle dominate an entire industry run by men.

I literally got goosebumps while watching few of the scenes. Only a very small number of movies have done that to me. Meryl Streep playing the role of Kathrine Graham managed to steal the scene. Spielberg's owners are seen to be extensively. It somehow manages to create a feeling of anticipation in the scene. Some the shots seems impossible. Tom Hanks is effortless with the direction of Spielberg. His rough voice playing the role of Ben Bradley is funny and energetic. The combination of Meryl and Hanks is deadly. Many say Meryl is overrated, but after seeing this film you will totally disagree to that.

One of the goosebumps scenes in the movie is when Katherine gets the phone call from Ben and she is asked the question of pulling the trigger for releasing the government papers. The way she acted this scene is amazing, the camera slowly pushes into the face as the tension builds. We can see the muscles of her face twitching very dedicately as she is looking for answers in her mind. The music adding much more tension to the scene while she mumbles a few words into the mic of her landline phone. Spielberg knows how to pull the right strings to make the scenes effective.

This is a powerful film, almost every women sitting in the theatre applauded after seeing one of the climax scenes of the film. I will predict that this film is going to give a tough competition in the Oscar race this year. Thank you for reading this post ,for more posts and reviews on movies follow me. Cheers!
