The Many Views of Detective Dick Japowski
Baby Driver (2017)
Edgar Wright delivers a jukebox of style, in his story of Baby, a reluctant getaway driver.
It's rare these days that I don't start to nod off when watching a movie at home and then have to rewind to where I left off, so more strength to this movie and its rhythm and pace. A classic tale of the guy who wants out told in a new refreshing way and all the tracks are number ones!

Minding the gap (2018)
Documentary following a group of skateboarding friends facing up to the next chapters in their life's.
Kick flipping off the new year with this incredibly moving and enjoyable documentary, which is directed by one of the friends, which gives it an honesty and warmth that a lot of docs don't have. The film gets into dealing with adulthood, small town living and how we are shaped. A must watch even for those who only carried a skateboard around!
First watch: 5 Doughnuts

Dick Japowski and the Importance of Seeing Ernest
Ernest Scared Stupid (1991)
Ernest's last outing on the big screen sees him unleashing a troll from a 200 year sleep who wants to turn children into wood carvings. Standard Ernest plot. But watching this in January, not under a Halloween spell makes for a real groaner, with particularly rough child acting and an even more over the top Ernest. I'm sure this is a minor bump and by the time Ernest goes to Africa we'll be in love again?
First watch: 2 Doughnuts

The Good Dinosaur2.jpg

The Arizona Case Files
The Good Dinosaur (2015)
Dinosaurs are humans, humans are animals, it's kinda like the old west, it's kinda boring and uninspired, but it's got pretty backgrounds. Bottom of the Pixar barrel, it couldn't even keep a three-year-old who likes dinosaurs entertained.
Rewatch: 2 Fossilised Doughnuts

The Many Views of Detective Dick Japowski
Roller Blade (1986)
Right, I'm going to make this sound a lot better then it actually is but here goes...
Post apocalyptic Los Angeles and everyone is on wheels. If your not, you're worm food for the leather clad creepo punks. There is hope though in the form of a group of curvaceous crusaders who try to keep the streets less sandy. The punks want a crystal from the roller nuns ( a separate faction) and a war breaks out.
Sounds amazing!
In reality this is probably without doubt the worst made movie I've ever seen. Playground choreography, painful dialogue and incoherency of which has never been seen before! The half doughnut is pity crumbs.
First watch: 0.5 Doughnuts

Death Wish 2018c.jpg

The Arizona Case Files
Death Wish (2018)
Doctor Bruce Willis turns murderous vigilante after he's left with a dead wife and a daughter in a coma following a botched burglary. A series of generic baddies get their comeuppance, and Dean Norris plays his usual brand of lovable law-enforcers.
First Watch: 3 Doughnuts
