RE: Film Review: 'Dressed to Kill' (1980): Ersatz Hitchcock, Done Right
I had a feeling you would really like this one! It has a lot of giallo influences as well -- Allen in her black lace undies, plus being stalked by a relentless killer in sunglasses and black leather gloves!
I saw Obsession (1976) on tv in the late 70s, years before I saw Vertigo, so I had no idea at the time that I was watching a cock-eyed Hitchcock reboot.
I really hope that one day I get to sit down and watch a movie with you. I think we could have some great fun pillaging each other's collections and showing off the gems. :)
That would be awesome! Although, I fear you wouldn't be impressed by my 12-year-old plasma screen and late 80s sound system.
Milady, you underestimate me. I watch LaserDiscs on a 10-year old plasma screen using a late-2000's sound system. It takes so very, very little to impress me... :D
Lol, then it's a date!
Haha! You two :>)
Same here, a good movie is ( still ) a good movie for me on a small screen ( although I prefer it to be bigger than a phone / tablet screen ) with mediocre sound.
I loved this film and Body Double. I have seen them a long time ago, on TV, when I was pretty young. Back then I probably only knew Hitchcock's The Birds. It was also about a decade before I discovered giallo movies as well as a decade before Don't Look Now became one of my all time favorites.
Thank you for bringing back memories, albeit flashes :>)
Excellent! Pick you up around, say, 9-ish? And don't worry, I'll have you home before the sun comes up. Don't want to explain what I'm doing driving around with a human-size plug of ashes in my front seat. ;)
Lol!
