RE: Chernobyl (Series): Review.

in #film5 years ago

My relatives lived very close to the place where the accident occurred. As a person from Russia who was very interested in the accident, I looked through a lot of information, interviews of participants and eyewitnesses, and also read many books. I can say that this series is a breath of fresh air.
According to my technical component, I have no questions, the play of actors is good, the character of Valery Legasov is especially accurate. As for the events described themselves, they are quite accurately conveyed, I like that this series took into account the timing and all events are based on the accident and its consequences for people, for society, for the world, because I am not a fan of past TV shows and about Chernobyl, where, in addition to the reflectors, for some reason, the audience was shown love lines and other nonsense.
It’s a fact that the Russian government didn’t like the series, but it’s not the flaws of the creators ’work, but the ideology.

Thanks for sharing this comment. It is interesting to know what the Russians think about it, especially those who have been directly or indirectly involved. And as you say, apparently the technical team of the series has taken their work seriously, and tried to recreate the events and characters in the best way possible.

Yes, exactly. I like this job because it really fits. Of course, there are small flaws, but no project can do without this, isn’t it?
