New film relives PLA liberation of Tibet
The Tibet-themed epic feature The Chainbreakers were built with a preview showing in Beijing lately, like a warm-from the approaching seventh Beijing Worldwide Film Festival's Ethnic Movie Exhibition.
Occur 1950, the film relives the region's turbulent history with the outlook during a soldier from China's People's Liberation Army.
The film is going to be screened throughout the festival, that will run from April 16 to 23.
Aside from lead actor Wang Ziyi, who plays the soldier, another people from the cast are locals in Tibet.
Yang Rui, the director, states the film attempts to use Hollywood-style narration to inform a Chinese ethnic legend.
She states she'd brought a 300-member crew to shoot the film in highlands by having an average elevation of four,500 meters.
Niu Song, chairman from the exhibition, states the show belongs to a nationwide program to create movies featuring all of the Chinese ethnic groups.
"Presently there are 17 ethnic groups yet to obtain their own movies. We have been focused on seek scripts and filmmakers to create their history and culture onto giant screen," states Niu.
