Birds eye view -or god's eye view- can be said as his signature in his movies. It is possible to find an example in almost every movie. In fact, directors often use this technique. but they often apply to scale or to emphasize a particular situation or just to position the character. We take a look at the character from above and we see that he is surrounded / there is no one around him, he is alone / he is surrounded by a crowd but he is free. We can also see buildings, streets, crowds, the usual flow of life. Ultimately, this plan provides us with information, thus making it easier for the directors. Scorsese, on the other hand, uses it to emphasize helplessness and a loneliness that is independent of people to a great extent. does not have any concerns about empathizing or trying to give information. invites the audience to a kind of neutrality. maybe the reason why he uses it so much is to make his characters feel that they are not alone. because in the world of Scorsese, loneliness is the inevitable fate of every character.
