One Piece Film Red is set to premiere in August in Japan. As a warm-up, One Piece TV has released a video containing the prologue of One Piece Film Red. It is announced via the official website for the One Piece Film Red anime that the prologue episodes related to the film will be released on August 14 and 21.

One Piece Film Red Prologue

In the upcoming prologue episode, it will depict moments that take place 10 years before the events of the film and feature a young Luffy and Uta along with the Red Hair Pirates, Shanks. Young Nami as well as Zoro will appear in the episode. In addition, the Straw Hat crew is shown traveling to Elegia, Music Island and also the filming location of the film.

The film will premiere in Japan on August 6. In addition, this film will also be screened in IMAX with a total of 27 theaters in Japan that will be screened simultaneously with regular screenings. It doesn't stop there, the film will also have MX4D, 4DX, and Dolby Atmos screenings on opening day. Playback will be available in Japanese audio with English subtitles.

As part of One Piece Day on July 22, the film premiered at the Nippon Budokan. The film centers on a new character named Uta, the daughter of Shanks. Kaori Nazuka and Ado will voice Uta. In addition, Ado will also perform the film's theme song with the title 'Shinjidai' (New Genesis).

Kenjiro Tsuda will voice the character Gordon in the film. Goro Taniguchi who previously directed 'One Piece: Defeat the Ganzak Pirates! ' will return to direct the film 'One Piece Film Red'. Tsutomu Kuroiwa (writer of One Piece Film Gold, One Piece: Heart of Gold) is serving as screenwriter, and One Piece manga creator Eiichiro Oda will serve as executive producers.

Previously, Oda had also designed other characters to wear outfits for the film with the theme “Rock x Pirates” and featured the characters in leather and button-down outfits for the iron-toned armor of the Century.

One Piece Stampede, the 14th and most recent film in the franchise opened in Japan in August 2019, and grossed over 10 billion yen at the worldwide box office. The film hit theaters in the United States and Canada in October 2019. It appears that the film was made to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the One Piece anime.
