ARCHERY 101 !!

As promised, I will share to you my first ever experience in Archery.

I started being fascinated and interested in archery when the movie Hunger Games was launched. But as a beginner I will not try the traditional archery that Hunger Games used.

I am eager to try this type of indoor archery even before to unleash my inner Katniss Everdeen spirit and be like her. That moment I have been waiting for has come.

Since this is our first time, we check first where can we try this activity and we have 2 options. One is on the DMZ Archery Range which is much cheaper for a hundred and ninety nine pesos, we can have unlimited arrows for an hour. However, we need to take a cab,and might get in to traffic that is why we decided to check if there is other Archery Range in the area. And voila! An angel sent from heaven told us that there is one and it is just at the 2nd floor of our building.

So we rushed into that archery range which is the Kondanda Archery Range which we can enjoy unlimited arrows an hour for three hundred and ninety nine pesos. It's much costly but we just grab it because we are really excited to try the archery.

Going to Archery Range for the first time can really be overwhelming. We entered the room and the staff were very accommodating . They asked first if it is our first time and if we need instructor. I was so amazed seeing a bow and arrow for the first time. The place looks small but it can accommodate up 5-7 people.

Each of us were given a standard wooden bow which varies in length and size, depending on your height and arm reach. But you can consult your instructor on what bow to use.

Along with the bow, we were also given a small belt bag that holds the arrow s. We were given maximum of 5 arrows at a time per shooter.Plus Finger Tab and Arm Guard are also issued to help prevent scratches from constant shooting.

After that, we were asked to stay in the middle of the line then taught us how to shoot from holding the bow,placing the arrow to the bow, the correct shooting posture and then wait for the instructor's command to fire.

So we tried, and I am so happy that for a first timer I am always hitting the yellow target. Big thanks to our instructor who gave tips on how to shoot the target. He told me to pull the strings towards my chin,aim for the target(left eye close),use only 3 fingers except pinky and thumb, and release the strings freely by not pulling it forward.

The experience was superb and fun. I thought hitting the target seems imposible but I did it and I did great. If you are bored or something and want to try something new and exciting, I would suggest you try the Archery . It's really fun and I will do this again.
