Filecoin's 12,000% spike in March of 2021 & what should you do about it?

in #filecoin3 years ago

Hello, fellow cryptocurrency and blockchain enthusiasts!
I want to express my opinion on Filecoin and its recent surge in March reaching All-Time Highs (ATHs). The cryptocurrency had a range from $20.00 to $230.00.

---Disclaimer: I am not giving investment advice, I am only making you aware of the recent news of this cryptocurrency so you can better understand the coin, technology, and the overall effect cryptocurrencies are currently having in the world we live in.---

To start, let me pose the question: "What is Filecoin?".
Answer:
Filecoin is an open-source, public cryptocurrency and digital payment system.
Filecoin strives and has the ideal goal of becoming a decentralized data storage system that "stores humanity's most important information."
In 2014, Filecoin was created by Protocol Labs.
Filecoin has an image similar to Amazon's Web Service, Cloudflare, or OneHub. These companies provide cloud-based data systems. Filecoin would like to do the same thing, just on a decentralized blockchain.

Whew! I apologize for the repetitiveness of 'Filecoin'; I don't think "It" or "This coin" does any cryptocurrency justice.

The most recent spike in Filecoin has made cryptocurrency investors double-take at the coin and its place in the crypto-world. I mean, who could look at a 12,000% increase and brush Filecoin off like it is not a big deal.

Now, what does this spike mean to you, and how one might approach Filecoin?
First off, if you had not put Filecoin on your radar, you better do that.

Second, do some research on the daily volume of Filecoin.
For example, the volume on March 1st, 2021 was 168,000. The price was around $38.
The first price jump was on March 16th, 2021. The volume on that day was approximately 2,000,000. The volume increase from two weeks prior was an exploding 1100%. The price jumped on March 16th was $88.00 ($50 difference in two weeks).
Let's jump ahead of another two weeks to March 30th, 2021. One of the following spikes with significant volume. On March 30th, 2021, the supply of Filecoin traded was 1,500,000 (What? Not 2 Million? SELL). Look at the changes of demand with Filecoin, or any asset in that case. On March 30th, 2021, the price of Filecoin closed at $190. ($102 difference from 3/16 and a $152 difference from the beginning of the month (3/1). Percentage-wise, from 3/16, that's a 116% increase in profits. From 3/1, that's a 400% increase in your position.

Finally, look at the total circulating supply of Filecoin. 63,000,000 (63 Million) Filecoins are in circulation at this moment. Multiply that by the cost of a single Filecoin and the Market Cap is $14,800,000,000 (14.8 Billion). This awards Filecoin with a position in the Top 10 of cryptocurrencies concerning Market Cap.

Knowing these three basic things now, what do you do?
Reread the first recommendation from me. Put Filecoin on your radar. I would speculate investment activities at the moment within Filecoin because the risk level is too high. As previously stated, in the month of March, an investor saw at most a 400% increase in profits. This percentage of profits is highly unlikely to continue into April.

If you are still pretty bullish on Filecoin, watch the cryptocurrency and strike at a time of consolidation. Where the volume is not massive, the market is in-between. If you need examples of this, look at the days between March 17th-March 24th, and March 26th-March 28th. During these dates, the Filecoin market shows significant volume but nothing near the spike days of over a million.
