El domingo en horas de la noche la música venezolana perdió a uno de sus exponentes con la guitarra. José Luis Lara Sanó, de 41 años de edad, fue víctima de un robo cuando se desplazaba en su vehículo Mitsubishi Lancer color dorado, placas MCF01N. Según funcionarios del Cicpc, el músico se dirigía a casa de su madre, en la urbanización Los Próceres, en Ciudad Bolívar, cuando fue asaltado por varios delincuentes que bajaron de otro automóvil y lo obligaron a que les entregara el carro.
“Lara les entregó las llaves a los asaltantes y aún así lo mataron”, aseguró César Pérez Rossi, percusionista y vocalista de Serenata Guayanesa. Los ladrones se llevaron el Lancer perteneciente al guitarrista y posteriormente huyeron del lugar. Familiares de Lara que aún permanecen en el país –muchos de ellos están en Panamá y Ecuador– lo trasladaron al hospital Universitario Ruiz y Páez, donde murió al poco tiempo de haber sido ingresado.
“El día anterior a la tragedia José Luis me había entregado un disco llamado Antonio Lauro Centenario”, relató Rossi. Lara era un profundo admirador del guitarrista Antonio Lauro, quien también nació en el estado Bolívar. La música que se originaba con sus cuerdas era la inspiración de Lara y por ello le dedicó un álbum completo a quien consideraba como su maestro.
José Luis Lara fue fundador y creador del Festival Internacional de Guitarra Angostura, un evento que se celebraba el 3 de agosto, fecha del natalicio de su guía musical Antonio Lauro. “Ese festival se organizaba con apoyo del gobierno de la entidad, pero Lara quería hacerlo este año con ayuda de la empresa privada y de la colectividad”, afirmó Rossi. El evento tiene 19 años de fundado.
A José Luis Lara Sanó lo velaron ayer en horas de la tarde en la funeraria Pro Familia en Ciudad Bolívar. Rossi informó además que el jueves le realizarán un homenaje con cuerpo presente en el Teatro Angostura, en la capital de la entidad. “Habrá un concierto de la sinfónica, en la que José Luis formaba parte y también estarán presentes grupos de guitarristas”, acotó.
“La comunidad está consternada con lo sucedido”, expresó. Los homicidas no han sido detenidos aún.

On Sunday night, Venezuelan music lost one of its exponents with the guitar. José Luis Lara Sanó, 41 years old, was the victim of a robbery while traveling in his Mitsubishi Lancer gold vehicle, plates MCF01N. According to Cicpc officials, the musician was going to his mother's house, in the urbanization Los Próceres, in Ciudad Bolívar, when he was assaulted by several criminals who got out of another car and forced him to give them the car.
"Lara gave the keys to the assailants and they still killed him," said César Pérez Rossi, percussionist and vocalist of Serenata Guayanesa. The thieves took the Lancer belonging to the guitarist and later fled the place. Relatives of Lara who still remain in the country - many of them are in Panama and Ecuador - moved him to the Ruiz y Páez University Hospital, where he died shortly after being admitted.
"The day before the tragedy José Luis had given me an album called Antonio Lauro Centenario," Rossi said. Lara was a profound admirer of guitarist Antonio Lauro, who was also born in the state of Bolívar. The music that originated with his strings was the inspiration of Lara and therefore he dedicated a complete album to whom he considered as his teacher.
José Luis Lara was the founder and creator of the Angostura International Guitar Festival, an event that took place on August 3, the date of the birth of his musical guide Antonio Lauro. "This festival was organized with support from the government of the entity, but Lara wanted to do it this year with the help of private companies and the community," Rossi said. The event is 19 years old.
José Luis Lara Sanó was veiled yesterday afternoon at the Pro Familia Funeral Home in Ciudad Bolívar. Rossi also reported that on Thursday they will perform a tribute with present body at the Angostura Theater, in the capital of the entity. "There will be a concert of the symphony, in which José Luis was a part and groups of guitarists will also be present," he said.
"The community is dismayed with what happened," he said. The murderers have not been arrested yet.
