Small Things
Ian and his grandpa loved playing golf together.
Afterwards, they would sit under the same tree with a cold drink and talk.
“Ian,” grandpa said once, “never underestimate the value of the small things. Good shade is a sweet pleasure.”
He then smiled, leaned back, closed his eyes and died.
50 words. Story entry for the @jana story challenge. Theme challenge: "Shade". Thanks for reading... I hope you enjoy it!
A sweet story, @steemgiant. It's nice that Ian received one last special message from his grandpa.
Thanks @jayna! I hope to join your challenge as often as I can. It's frustrating/fun to try to hit the 50 word mark with any thing that makes sense.
Profound.. a lot going on here, but tied together masterfully...
That's very kind... thank you!
Wow. Full circle. Don't we all wish we could end like that?
Great job.
Thanks! Yeah, living healthy enough to do the things you love right up until the last moment, then going with a cold drink in your hand under the cooling shade of a tree... that's the best way to go!
