An Interview With Oona

We caught up with Oona while she was working hard in the laboratory. What strikes us immediately is her enthusiasm and creativity, as we gaze around the room and listen to her explain what a few of the pieces do; before we take a break and settle into comfortable chairs for the interview.

Interviewer: Would you say you are an Aristocrat or an Adventurer?
Oona: I am an aristocrat, adopted into the Neapolis family.
Interviewer: How did you get to become an Aristocrat, then? It's not always easy.
Oona: It seems that I was involved in some kind of accident in one of their laboratories which resulted in a brain injury. I have unfortunately lost a sense of who I was before, but am very grateful to the Neapolis family, who felt responsible for the accident and have taken me in.
Interviewer: Do you think you've led a life more of hardship or privilige because of this, then?
Oona: It’s hard to say what I knew before, but since becoming a member of the Neapolis family, I have known much privilege and support in my work and life.
Interviewer: What is your favourite book?
Oona: I believe it is called “Liminal Creatures of Heaven” but I unfortunately cannot seem to locate a copy anywhere, which is strange indeed. After all, the blockchain records every doesn’t it? But it must exist, as passion for this text fuels my creativity and inventions.
Interviewer: What do you do for fun?
Oona: I am constantly tinkering with new inventions in my lab. I desire to express my gratitude to my family through furthering their entrepreneurial gains with innovative creations.
Interviewer: What are some of the things you have invented so far?
Oona: Oh I am so glad you asked! My recent works are a charming combination of organic and technology. Custom pets and hopefully eventually fighting companions for every Clockwork Fighter. Perhaps you would like to schedule a visit to pick out one of your very own?
[interview is suspended while we discuss in-depth and with great enthusiasm options for the custom pets; interviewer orders three while they sip refreshing drinks. Then ...]
Interviewer: How often do you train, and what is your training routine?
Oona: I go through waves of training every day, to long absences depending on what I’m working on in the lab. I never get into the arena without training beforehand, though.
Interviewer: What do you eat for breakfast before a big battle?
Oona: I desire some filling, but light to help me stay connected to my body. Fruit, grilled fish, and some kind of starch or root is ideal. Always accompanied by a strong cup of coffee.
Interviewer: What is a piece of advice you would give to new fighters?
Oona: Always keep your mind sharp and nurture your creativity as much as your strength. A creative strategy can turn the tables of any fight.
Interviewer: What is your favourite weapon?
Oona: The Pretty Parasol of Lethal Consequence!
Interviewer: Where do you keep your guns?
Oona: Hidden, thank you very much.
Interviewer: What do you think of UltimaCorp?
Oona: I, like many of my family, seek an alliance with them, even if it is an uneasy one. After all, they are the gatekeepers to our dreams.
Interviewer: What are your dreams for the future?
Oona: In the short term, I would like to repay my gratitude by adding to my family’s fortune through entrepreneurial success. After that… who knows.
Interviewer: Is there anything you would like the readers to know?
Oona: Please do come by my lab and see the Clockwork Companions we have available. If you’re interested, I can even design something special just for you.
Interviewer: "How did you end up pixelated?"
Oona: "Well... that is strange isn't it? A little accident in my lab. Normally people shouldn't be able to pixelate themselves.... But.. here we are I guess!"

You can find Oona and her laboratory deep underground in the UltimaCorp building. Phone ahead and make an appointment as Oona is very busy, but she would love to talk to you about your Clockwork Arena needs.

Further information from the handbook on A Steempunknet Weapons Portrait, written by @lennstarr which we found in the archives; we would like to remind our readers of the usefulness of these gems.
Here is an excerpt from his book, regarding Lady Ada's Pocket Revolver:

As any Lady knows, those special places are excellent receptacles for such a small & handy weapon. Men - why not give her the gift that keeps on giving.

Finally, we would like to offer some book recommendations, for the keen Steempunk enthusiast.
